“Amazing Azura!!”

On the 9th April I was delighted to be able to join the launch of the new P&O ship Azura along with many other agents. My first impression of the Azura was her sheer size and elegance.
As we entered the Azura I noticed that the décor was stylish and not over glitzy, ideal for the
British market. Eventually after being very confused as to the location of my cabin, I found that I had been allocated a balcony cabin featuring twin beds, bathroom with shower wc,
Interactive TV, tea/coffee making facilities, hairdryer, fridge and a large open wardrobe.
The sliding doors opened onto a small but adequate balcony large enough for 2 comfy chairs and a small table. We dined buffet style in the Venezia restaurant where there was a large selection of hot and cold food- prawns, salmon and steak and kidney pudding to name a few, and the deserts were plentiful. At the heart of the Azura is the atrium, a very social venue located over 3 decks with a café, art gallery, bookshop, library and shops. From here you can decide whether to have a drink in the Glass House ( Olly Smith’s wine bar) or the Blue Bar and there is a choice of 10 others. We dined in the Peninsular restaurant which was waiter style with an intimate atmosphere. The delicious food was nouvelle cuisine with 5 or 6 choices on every course. After the evening meal we decided to chill out in Malabar listening to live music but you could also go the Theatre to watch a show, go for a boogie in Manhattan or go to one of the many bars. After a very busy day it was nice to get back to the cabin to get a good nights sleep in the cosy beds. After breakfast we had a look round the spa facilities and pool areas, which looked fantastic. Due to time limitations we did not get round to see all the facilities that this fantastic new ship has to offer but I would definitely go back with my family for my main holiday.
